Salvatore J Lato went into the arms of Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother on June 11, 2022.  Son of the late Frank and Rose Lato. Sal was described as always out dressing everyone and being ahead of his time with his technology skills and leadership, most notably as the Commissioner of MIS for the city of Chicago prior to retirement. Rather than take up golf for himself after retirement, he and Jackie took on the greatest challenge in life… providing unconditional love and caring for his grandkids as the best granny and grandpa day care ever -  allowing his two sons and their wives the ability to work without ever a worry.  Devoted husband to Jackie for 59 years and a loving father to Frank (Vicki), Mark (Vivienne) and John (Patty); loyal brother to Frank and Arlene; devoted brother in law to Lucia Annunzio (Rick)   Loving Grandpa to Frank, Nicholas, Mark, Christi, Luke, Mary, Henry and Caroline; devoted uncle to Angie Rose Randall (Bill), Christopher Tynan (Dana), Brad O'Donnell (Terri), and Bill O'Donnell and an amazing great-uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation on Friday, June 17th, from 9:15 am at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash, Chicago until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
