Robert Francis
Buss
Jan 25, 1947 — May 22, 2026
Robert Francis Buss Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was the cherished son of the late Francis J. Buss and the late Geraldine Buss.
Bob was the devoted husband of Patricia “Trish” Buss. He was the loving father of Frank Buss and Robert Francis Buss Jr. (Kaitlin). He was also a loving stepfather to the late Angela Zamarron (Jesse).
He was the dear brother of the late Dolly, the late Gerry, Joyce (Tony), and Jan (Terry).
Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren: Zoe Buss, Grace and Shae Mullen-Buss, and Hunter, Jacob, Justin and Lily Zamarron. He treasured every moment with them and loved creating memories they will carry forever. He was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob dedicated 25 years of hard work as a truck driver for the Chicago Tribune, where he earned the respect and friendship of many coworkers throughout the years.
Outside of work, Bob had a lifelong passion for horses. He loved everything about them — riding, betting them, owning them, and painting beautiful pictures of them. Horses were truly one of the great loves of his life. He also enjoyed golfing and spending peaceful days at his beloved cottage in Delavan, WI, a place that brought him joy and comfort for many years.
Bob will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. His warmth, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
