Age 103, died Nov. 6, 2014. Graduated from Juilliard School of Music in '32 and received a Master's degree in '35 from Columbia University, joined the viola section of the National Symphony in Washington D.C., followed by playing in the original Broadway production of "Oklahoma". Salesman for Max Factor Cosmetics for 18 yrs. Played in the Chicago Lyric Opera and Grant Park Symphony for 25 yrs. Retired in 1993. Beloved father of Diane (Sandy) Whiteley; dear step-father of Janice Lighty and Lorin (Jo Ann) De Young; fond grandpa and great grandpa of many and a special thanks to Carolyn Groom for devoted care-giving for 8 years.
