Nick Kallans born August 9, 1931 died peacefully Sept 1, 2017. He is preceded in death by his lifelong girlfriend Mae Lauricella who died in March 2017. Nick was a dedicated Chicago CTA bus driver for over 20 years. He also owned Irving Park Foods and Deli in the early 1970's at 1614 W. Irving Park Rd. Nick served in the US Army in the Korean War with his best friend from grammar school Al Lira. He is survived by his nieces Kerry and Georgia Johnson (nee Kallans) and Jamie and nephew Billy Sturtevant. Nick was a true Chicagoan, he was a loyal Cubs and Bears fan. He lived in Chicago his entire life until his health failed two years ago. He will be missed by many, Nick was a true friend to all!
