Nee: Mahoney, 86, devoted wife of the late Anthony, beloved mother of Mitch (Carlene) and Joe (Vicki), daughter of the late John and Margaret(Hartsfield) Mahoney. Preceded in death by siblings Bud, Paul, Frank (Babe), Mike (Phyllis), Allen, Peggy (Charles) Shue, Janey and Edna (Martin) O'Neill. Mary Ruth is survived by her only remaining sibling, Catie Mahoney. Ruthie was the 6th of 10 children who, in 1949, married Anthony, who was the 7th of 10 children. A few years later, sons Mitch and Joe were born. Ruth was a life-long member of Teamsters Local 714 and worked at Ecko Products for over 30 years. She was a trusted and loved wife, mother, aunt and work mate. She raised her boys in a good union household; Anthony being a union machinist, Mitch, a local 73 sheet metal worker and Joe, a graphic arts worker. Ruth was a true friend to all working people. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and precious dog, Tessa. We will all miss her beautiful smiling face. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Bethesda Rehab & Senior Care for their excellent and compassionate care of Mom and Dr. John Walsh for his commitment to her and her family. We are forever grateful.
