Lucy (Lucia) Teresa Catherine (Belcastro) Parzyszek, age 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 18, 2026. Lucy was born on December 13, 1925, to the late Frank (Francesco) and Teresa Belcastro. She was married on January 9, 1943 to the late William Edward Parzyszek and was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, four nephews, one niece and many special friends who passed before her.

Throughout her 100-year life journey, Lucy touched the lives of many with her wisdom, humor and unwavering spirit of perseverance and is survived by her son William Edward Parzyszek Jr., two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and was the aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt to many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Lucy was a die-hard Cubs fan and during baseball season you could always catch her listening to the Ballgame on the radio if she wasn't able to watch it on TV. She was also called "Aunt Lucy" or "Auntie" by those who loved her and everyone who met her eventually called her "Aunt Lucy" too. She was a dear friend to many and her phone was constantly ringing off of the hook which was a testament to just how important she was to everyone around her. Her faith was always important to her too and not only did she attend mass every Sunday for the majority of her life, but she was also Baptized, received the Sacrament of Communion, celebrated the Sacrament of Matrimony and sang in the Choir at Holy Rosary Church. Lucy's remarkable life will forever be an inspiration and is a testament to the power of what an unforgettable spirit looks like. She will never be forgotten and her spirit will live on within everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and loving her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Rago Brothers Funeral Homes, 624 N. Western, from 2pm-7pm. Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Rosary Church on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 10:30am, and the burial will immediately follow by a Funeral Procession to Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
