Obituary

June Ann Bronkema (Grimm), 67, of Ingleside, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2026. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring sister, cousin, friend, and, most of all, a grandmother who will be deeply missed. June dedicated her life to her family, especially her grandchildren. She also had a passion for gardening and helping those in need, always giving to others and taking pride in donating to the Angels Nest Non-Profit Organization.

June was born on March 14, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in a two-flat on Race Street, where she built fond memories with the Pastorello and Brandolino families. A favorite memory was Christmas Eve, a special time when both floors of the house filled with love, connected by the famous stairs that brought their families together. As a teenager, June met the love of her life, John, at Jumbo John’s. They married and moved to the Mayfair area, where June quickly became a familiar face to many. She was deeply involved with St. Edward Parish. June served as a clerk at Ole A. Thorp Elementary Scholastic Academy, where she was the welcoming face for everyone entering the building and was loved by many families. After many years of service, June retired to spend more time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

June is survived by her husband, John; their children, Rich (Kelli) and Steven (Rosie); and her grandchildren, Gio, JP, Olivia, Dominic, Sophia, and Tyler. She is also survived by her siblings, Gina, Phillip, and Rosie (Wenda), and was a cherished cousin to many, especially her cousin Diane.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Phyllis; her granddaughter, Emma Rose; her aunts, Carmella, Babe, and Anna; her uncles, Art and Pat; her cousins, Sam, Lea, and Tony; and her nephew, Sam.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to June’s favorite non-profit organization, Angels Nest, which provides supervised independent living to young adults and mothers.
