James (Jim) William Van Hoorn, 59, Woodstock, IL, died Thursday, December 6, 2019, in his home.

Jim was born December 29, 1959, in Highland Park, IL. He grew up in Lake Zurich, IL. Jim is survived by his children, Nathan, Natalie and Nolan; his mother, Glenda F Van Hoorn; two brothers, John (Tammy) and Bert (Dawn) and two sisters, Jeanne (Keith) Wiesbrock and Jan (Ron) Renn. He was preceded in death by his father, Adrian and two nephews, KC Wiesbrock and Sam Wiesbrock.

Jim was very, very proud of his beautiful children. He loved working with and cultivating plants. Jim named multiple plants after family members. The plants, Hosta Adrian's Glory and Eupatorium Glenda, named after both his parents, are part of his legacy. He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed most any activity that would allow him to be outside.

A memorial will be held in the Spring of 2020.
