Obituary

Frank A. Mazzuca

Frank A. Mazzuca, age 64, longtime resident of Chicago IL, current resident of Lombard IL, passed away unexpectedly Friday July 31, 2026.

Frank was born on November 26, 1961, loving son to Frances Mazzuca (Cesario) and the late Anthony Mazzuca, beloved brother to Joe Mazzuca and dear uncle to Dominic Mazzuca.

Frank was born into a large Italian family of the Mazzuca, Cesario, Smeriglio and Brojan family names. A loving nephew to many aunts and uncles and a loving cousin to many cousins; close, immediate and distant, as well as grand and great cousins.

Frank was born in Chicago, IL, where his parents were living in Chicago for a brief time after they married, and while Frank's father Anthony Mazzuca was working.

Frank's parents moved back to Berwyn, purchasing the family home on 24th and Gunderson, where they continued to reside, welcoming a second son, Joseph "Joe" in 1964, raising their family, and remained longtime residents of the Berwyn community up until February 1999, moving to Schaumburg IL.

Frank and his family were parishioners of St. Odilo Catholic Church, attending Sunday mass, and where Frank and his brother Joe went to CCD class, making their communion and confirmation.

Frank attended & graduated Hiawatha Grammer School in Berwyn, class of 1975, going on to attend Morton West H.S. in Berwyn, graduating with the class of 1979. After graduating high school, Frank went on to attend Trade school to become an Electrician, although the path to be an Electrician changed, Frank made his way into a different path, where he went on to build a successful 25+ year career with the Cook County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 2014.

Frank was known for his dedication and hard work, Frank having a diversified work background, also worked for IDOT and setting up venues for multiple stadiums, building the stage, the lighting show and audio for music concerts and shows for the Chicagoland area.

Frank had an infectious laugh and a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, always smiling, warm and welcoming to all family and friends at family Sunday dinners & holidays, and friends he made throughout the years.

Frank's legacy lives on in all the lives he touched and the memories he created with family and friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Frank will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered forever.
