It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Chippas. Born on April 26, 1935, in Chicago, IL. Denise passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 88 at her home in Knoxville, TN. She was the eldest daughter of the late Nicholas and Sophia "Sally" Safrithis. Denise was preceded in death by her loving husband Athanas J. "Tom" Chippas. She is survived by her children Penelope Sullivan (John), William Chippas (the late Daniella), and Anthony Chippas (Maureen). Her grandchildren Nicholas (Jennene), Michael, Molly, Nicole, and Jack, as well as two great-grandsons, Athanas and Mazen.

Denise always held her Greek Orthodox faith close to her heart. She had been a member of St. Demetrios in Chicago, and Holy Apostles in Westchester, IL.

A visitation will be held in Denise's honor on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, at 11:45 am at Rago Bros Funeral Home, 7751 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60612. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 12:30 pm at Irving Park Cemetery, 7777 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60612.

Denise will always be remembered for her kindness, and her love for her family, friends, and animals. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
