David Bradley
Sincox
September 18, 1963 – May 23, 2026
David Bradley Sincox passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026 after a brief pancreatic cancer illness. Born on September 18, 1963 to Rochelle (née Barbre) Sincox and Dr. James Sincox,Sr., David spent his childhood in Glencoe, Illinois and graduated from New Trier East High School in 1981. He attended Drake University from 1981 - 83, and graduated from theUniversity of Illinois in 1994 with a focus on Chinese politics and history.
David’s greatest adventure was teaching English in Wuhan, China where he traveled and made many friends. David loved being active in Chicago, the city he loved, as evidenced by his year round (and beloved) volleyball team, participating in over sixty stair climbs raising money for local charities, and weekends spent sailing in the Shields fleet from 1998 - 2025. He wishes the crew of The Sundance an awesome summer.
Another of David’s passions was music. From the time he was 14 to months before his death, he attended hundreds of concerts, had a prized collection of albums, and was a deep library ofrock music trivia, facts, and stories. David also loved dogs and volunteered his time with PAWS Chicago because he “never met a dog he didn’t like.”
His love of research and memory for details was the perfect match for his career as a paralegal, working most recently as a Business Analyst at the RLI Corp.
David is preceded in death by his father Jim and his nephew Philip. He is survived by his mother, Rochelle, his older brother Jim (Elizabeth) Sincox, and his younger sister, Julia (Craig) Stanley. He was the beloved Uncle Davio to his five nieces and nephews Claire (Jack) Mullen, Reed (Kira Mann) Sincox, and Ned, Mary and Eve Stanley, and to great-nieces Annie and Kitt Mullen.
Special thanks to Drs. Baig and Tyler at University of Chicago Cancer Center, and to the amazing Journey Care Hospice staff.
Plans for a Celebration of Life will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to PAWS Chicago.
