Born on January 29, 1947 in Tarnow, Poland to Julia and John Witek, Urszula was the epitome of love and selflessness. She grew up in a large, loving family in Poland, and though they predeceased her, we find solace knowing she is now reunited with them. At the age of 32, she moved to the United States to build a new life, leaving behind her career as a midwife. Her fierce determination and independence shone brightly as she built a successful career as a Real Estate agent a testament to her lioness spirit.
As a mother, she was incomparable – her love boundless, her wisdom profound. To her, I was not just her only child but the love of her life. She instilled in me the values of intuition, hard work, and the importance of life's finer pleasures. Her teachings, from the practicality of good shoes and mattresses to the elegance of always being well-presented, are lessons I will carry forever. My mom was never shy to express her opinion and she was always ready to admit she was a "straight shooter".
"Laleczka," (doll) as she affectionately called me, your spirit, your joy, your love will forever be a part of me. Rest in peace, Mama. You leave behind a legacy of love, resilience, and joy. I await the day when we reunite, surrounded by the vast family I've heard so much about but never met.
