Tom was a dedicated detective for the CPD for over 30 yrs.  After his retirement he went to work as an investigator at the Cook County States Attorney’s Office for over another decade.  He is survived by his loving wife Margaret, his daughter Laura nee Sokniewicz (Brian, retired CPD), his grandsons Daniel (Cynthia) and Kevin (Rachel).  He was predeceased by his wife of 48 yrs, Judith, his daughter Tracy, his son Tom CPD (Laura), and his grandchildren Kaitlyn Sokniewicz and Sean Sokniewicz.  He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.  In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

“Tom I’m sorry I can’t make your service. I’m down in Florida until April. I was friends with you and your brothers growing up on the streets of the west side. I went through Detective training with you and served with you as a gang investigator. Your satirical personality never failed to amaze me. You will be sorely missed. RIP brother your watch has ended.”
