Steve J. Pizzello

Date of Death:
Wednesday, September 21, 2022

Steve J Pizzello was born, raised and married on Taylor Street in Chicago.  98 years, 8 months strong who never gave up on life, not for a day in his life.  Steve J. Pizzello, "Uncle Steve", beloved husband of the late Angeline "Angie" nee Spina.  Loving father of Annamarie (Bob) Bomba & Lenora (William Jany) Pizzello.  Dear brother of the late Joe (the late Rose), Hank (the late Santa), Cuneo (the late Marie), Angelo (the late Ruth), Mary (the late Paul) Mierop, Jimmy & Helen (the late Dominick) Varchetto.

Steve was a decorated and proud WWII US army combat veteran, European theater,  fighting his way through the Ardennes including the Battle of the Bulge earning 2 Bronze stars for bravery. CPD for 34 years retiring as a detective sergeant, member of the Sheridan Carroll Knight of Columbus & past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Dedicated weekly volunteer and integral to the Sheridan Carroll Knights of Columbus food pantry for 27 years.

Dad was the life of the party.  Always the first on the dance floor and the very last off. His energy filled a room and drew all to him. Dad loved Dean Martin, dancing, and shooting craps which proudly began at the age of 7 on the Chicago street corners.  Dad will be remembered for his undying love, loyalty and fearless protection of his family and friends.  Leading all the family children through the house on Christmas Eve to Alvin and the Chipmunks song and making his daughters pancakes in the shape of animals, and washing their hair with his enormous hands.  A father who protected and nurtured, we will forever hold you close in our hearts for the way you lived. We will do our very best to follow in your footsteps.  Always take care of your family and friends, put others before you, be thankful and say your prayers at bedtime.  How did we get so lucky to have you for our father.
