On Saturday, June 18th, 2022, Jim Poelsterl, loving husband and proud father, unexpectedly passed away at age 60.
Jim was born on January 27th, 1962 in Chicago, IL to Kathleen and Joseph Poelsterl. He retired from the Cook County Highway Department in 2012 and continued his career as the Public Works Superintendent for the City of Blue Island until his passing.
Jim loved spending time by the water. Eventually he achieved his lifelong goal of purchasing a lake house. Lake Carroll is where you would find him and Tommy tinkering with their toys and taking Denise and Natalie for a night cruise on the boat. It’s where he would make any excuse to go to the store, just to stop at Casey’s to grab his “go to” fountain pop. This place was his home away from home – The place where he would go to relax and enjoy the little things in life.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, Charlie, daughter, Katie, his father, Joseph, his mother, Kathleen and his brother Steven. He is survived by his wife Denise, his children, Tommy and Natalie, his brother Joseph (Margaret) Poelsterl and many nieces and nephews.
